This handwoven lightweight shawl is woven in Xaaga in the Valley of Oaxaca. It is a mostly cotton plain weave ornamented with stripes across the fabric in leno weave Patterns woven in a lighter color rayon reflect light and add an interesting dimension to the design. Varying colors in the warp and weft threads create a pretty color/texture in the fabric. Drapes nicely. 23 1/2” wide X 87 1/2” long plus a 6” fringe. We suggest handwashing to protect the appearance of the fringe - likely to get tangled in a washing machine.
