This skillfully machine-embroidered and hand-woven one-of-a-kind poncho is from Chiapas. Views of the front and back are shown here. Gorgeous handmade tassels adorn these spectacular pieces!
30” wide X 27” long plus 2 1/2” fringe. Tassels plus cord are each about 15” long. The warp-faced fabric was woven on a treadle loom. The fabric is cotton with a small amount of metallics and embroidery thread appears to be cotton for the leaves and acrylic for the flowers with some metallics. Tassles and cord are synthetic.
