This huipile is one of the older red Santa Catarina Palopo huipiles. On the shores of Lake Atitlan, this village changed its traditional huiple color from red to blue quite a few years ago. Red ones are vintage pieces and are harder to find. This one is bright red . The decorative woven rows have some very pretty birds and animal figures in the design. The condition is below average. There is yarn slippage and some yarn loss in the base fabric. It is 33”W X 27” Long.
