This huipile is one of the older red Santa Catarina Palopo huipiles. On the shores of Lake Atitlan, this village changed its traditional huiple color from red to blue quite a few years ago. Red ones are vintage pieces and are harder to find. This one is a very pretty dark red (cranberry). It has velvet trim on the neck and arm openings. The decorative woven rows have some very interesting little people in the design. The condition is outstanding. It is 29”W X 25” Long.
