$150.00

This is a new hand-carved and painted mask from Guerrero. The red face has for years been used to represent the Moor in the Dance of the Christians and the Moors. The pronounced eyebrows and prominent nose and chin are also used in the depiction of Moors. The hair is sisal. This is a beautifully carved mask strangely resemblant to a Guy Fawkes white mask! But influence of TV and the internet is often seen in Mexican folk art today as the world shrinks! 11”L X 7 3/4”W X 4 1/2”D, excluding the hair, which adds another 4” in length.
