Classic hand-embroidered huipile from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. Flowers are embroidered in chain stitch with cotton thread. Background fabric is maroon velvet. The blouse is embroidered on both sides. 24” across the shoulders, 22 1/2” side to side at the bottom. 20 1/2” top to bottom. In the past, these huipiles were embroidered in satin stitch, now most are embroidered in chain stitch.
